Unicef Award winner
In 2007 I sent a story about girl-child early marriages in rural villages, to Prasarbharthi/AIR which got selected among the 10 best scripts and I produced and directed the film, titled ‘Baala-Bharati’. The film has won Prasarbharthi-UNICEF Girl-child award as the second best film in 2007.
It was shot on a Panasonic 3ccd digital camera (miniDV) at various locations in Karimnagar district (Kathalapur, Medipally & Chintakunta villages).
While making the film I stayed in my grandfather’s village for about a month. The stay brought in a new sense of pride and belongingness which was lacking when I was working in the cities, and instilled in me a wish to live in the village and make some more films with challenging themes.
I later screened my short film in 4 to 5 schools for free and interacted with many children. Thus I realised cinema is the ultimate medium to inspire the young ones in a positive way, who, otherwise don’t know where they actually going.

Present Work
While writing a story about a school boy travelling in the school bus everyday to study in a convent school in town, I aimed to make the film with support and help from the people of Karimanagar district, so that right through the making there will b an awareness about the film and the credit will come to the district, later on.

I see my present film STETHOSCOPE - oka chinni gunde chappudu’ as a genuine attempt to revive interest in children’s cinema, which, day by day is fading out due to the bombardment of meaningless formulae films in AP, India.

The making of a director
In 2004, I scripted/ directed and produced my FIRST short film called ‘Talaiva’.It is about a palmist who just wants to cross the road to look at Budha statue of Hussain Sagar lake at Tank-Bund -Hyderabad. The film got screened in 1st Hyderabad Short & Documentary film festival in 2005. I scripted, directed and produced another short film ‘ Dehayatra’ about child kidnappings, in 2006. Unfortunately I could not complete the post production yet, due to exhaustion of my savings).

My earlier experience
After completing my graduation in Applied Arts (JNTU-HYD) in 1997, I went to Madras and joined HTA-an advertising agency, as a graphic illustrator and within 2 months I joined Mr. Kamal Hassan and worked as a storyboard artist for his RKproductions(Marudanayagam, Chachi 420) for about 5 months. Then I worked under the directors:
Kodi Ramakrishna garu (Chennai) Anji
Singeetham Srinivasa Rao garu,(Chennai) Ramayana through slokas DVD,
Rajkumar Santoshi garu (Mumbai) Chinagate, Pukar,

Jagmohan Mundra garu (Mumbai) Bhawandhar, Perfumed garden,
Jayanth Paranje garu (Hyderabad) Eeshwar,
Krishna Vamshi garu (Hyderabad) SriAnjaneyam,
Guna Sekhar garu (Hyderabad) Okkadu,
as a storyboard artist/assistant director(1997-2006).
I also did storyboards for TV commercials and couple of US based film productions (Panic, Deathrole-Crocodile II ) as I worked with Ramoji Film group for about 2 years (1999-2001).
